Can You Identify This Shrub For Me?

I planted this shrub on both ends of my deck about 10 years ago.  (I'm going to trim it as soon as it cools off).  I have no idea what it is and probably didn't care at that point and time.  As I'm getting more interested and involved in gardening, now I'm curious.  Can you identify this shrub? It's actually quite beautiful.  It attracts bees in early spring, lol.  Any ideas would be appreciated.  I can research and see if your suggestions fit my shrub.  Please leave me a comment, so I can head in some direction.  Thanks!

  1. Is it Nandina? There are several different kinds, sometimes know as Heavenly Bamboo or False Bamboo. Does it get little white flowers? Or Red Berries? Some Nandina stays small others can get 6-7 foot.

  2. @Lorie - I have Nandina in the front shubbery bed, and this shrub looks nothing like it. I'll do further research and let you know.

  3. Pieris? Common name Andromeda, flowers in early spring and smells wonderful. I don't know where you're at but it is a common landscape plant here in the PNW.

Thanks for stopping by my blog :)

  4. Is it a burning bush? The trunk looks like it as do the leaves. Does it turn red in the fall?

  5. @Deborah Lemmer - I don't think it's a Burning Bush. It doesn't turn red. I think "Throwback at Trapper Creek" and "Wendy" identified correctly, Pieris Japonica. Thanks for the suggestion.
